12B: MacMillan Pass In The Fall.
After the first frosts have hit the extensive bog birch
shrub-lands at the pass (and other places), they begin to turn their fall colours. The slopes are blanketed in a vivid scarlet colour similar to what occurs in an eastern hardwood forest. The valleys are scarlet with the deep green of spruce trees and the snow capped white peaks. The spectacular beauty of this time only lasts for a couple of weeks before the leaves fall.
