#8 Faro is primarily a mining town. Good mountain sheep viewing opportunities exist in the spring. It has one of the largest open pit mines in the world (currently closed). It
offers some nice walking trails, an arboretum and a nice RV park. While in Faro check out the Campbell Region Interpretive Centre.
Fisheye Lake lies Southwest of Faro along the Campbell highway and is stocked
with Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, and Kokanee (landlocked salmon). |
